The Challenge
The overall business objective was to improve market position for the company's protection business. This included improving service levels and profitability, increasing IFA market share and securing new partnerships. The company therefore needed to develop and implement a new integrated Protection insurance online quote and apply system for all sales channels to replace and enhance their existing e-commerce offerings.
The Solution
Point Solutions was selected to provide an efficient single solution for processing all Protection New Business. Cornerstone to the selection was Point's expertise, flexibility and scalability in supporting this insurer's drive to provide a compelling online solution for all authorised agents and consumers allowing them to quote and apply for a wide range of protection products. The results of this implementation included dramatic improvements in performance, with a reduction in processing time, automation of the underwriting process and removal of paper for the processing of applications. These in turn lead to faster payment of commission to the agent, reduction in costs and ease of use which helped increase sales. Using the acuo framework our team worked with the company's e-commerce division on a phased implementation to deliver an integrated data capture and online quote and apply solution for their protection products.
The front end solution now allows real time quote, underwriting and apply of multiple products. The "White Labelling" solution means a powerful proposition for partners. The company is currently taking volumes in excess of 10,000 protection applications per week using Point's acuo technology.
